Elvis Presley Returns to London Stage as Hologram in Immersive AI Show, UK

Date:

Elvis Presley, the rock ‘n’ roll legend, will be making a spectacular return to the London stage in late 2024. However, this time he will be in the form of a hologram as part of an immersive show created using artificial intelligence (AI). The announcement was made on Thursday by the creators of the show.

The immersive AI show, titled Elvis Evolution, will feature an incredibly realistic version of Elvis playing on stage as an avatar. This avatar has been created using thousands of concert videos and personally taken pictures, including iconic hits such as Suspicious Minds, Jailhouse Rock, and Hound Dog. Close associates of the singer from Memphis have been involved in the creation process, ensuring an authentic representation of Elvis.

Behind this groundbreaking project is Layered Reality, a British company that has secured a multimillion-pound deal with Real Brands Group. This deal grants them access to the late King’s legacy rights and archives, enabling the organization of shows worldwide. The first set of shows is scheduled to take place in London in November 2024, followed by performances in Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo.

The concept of bringing deceased musicians back to life through holograms has gained considerable attention in recent years. Pophouse Entertainment, for example, previously staged a show in London featuring the popular Swedish disco group ABBA, represented by digital avatars. The success of this show led to an extension, and now the Swedish company is planning a new show featuring musicians from the American glam-metal group Kiss.

Elvis Presley’s legacy remains strong decades after his passing. The global rock icon, who would have turned 89 this year, continues to captivate audiences. Not only is his music celebrated through shows and holograms, but his life story is also being explored on the big screen. A biopic titled Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann, is set to be released in 2022. In addition, a movie based on a book by Priscilla Presley, Elvis’ former wife, called Priscilla, is now playing in theaters in select countries.

With AI technology pushing the boundaries of entertainment, audiences can look forward to a truly immersive experience that brings their favorite music legends back to life. The marriage of AI and holography allows the magic of Elvis Presley to transcend time, giving fans both old and new a chance to witness the King’s electrifying performances once again.
