Mumbai, December 26: Elon Musk’s Grok AI, developed by xAI, entered the Indian market alongside 46 other countries in December 2023. Positioned as a powerful AI chatbot offering real-time results, Grok AI aims to outperform other chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. According to reports, Grok AI in India provides two subscription options: Regular and Fun, exclusively available for X Premium+ subscribers.
Grok AI presents a direct competition to the renowned AI chatbot, ChatGPT, which made its global debut in November 2022. However, as per a report by Indian Express, Grok AI is relatively more expensive than ChatGPT Plus, especially when users subscribe through smartphones. The report further reveals that the monthly subscription for Grok AI in India is approximately Rs 2,299, while the annual cost amounts to Rs 22,900. This higher price tag is one factor contributing to Grok AI’s costliness when compared to ChatGPT.

The Indian Express report indicates that the monthly subscription for Grok AI drops to Rs 1,300 when accessed through smartphones, with an annual subscription cost of Rs 13,600. Currently, Grok AI’s availability is limited to early access for X subscribers, granting notable perks such as blue tick verification, ad-free experience, video download, background video playback, and enhanced posting capabilities.
