Elon Musk is pushing the boundaries of technology once again, this time by teasing a potential ChatGPT rival as part of his long-discussed “everything app.” OpenAI has an established partnership with Microsoft, which could mean Tesla, X.AI, and Twitter will also have something similar. This could be the first step towards Musk’s “everything app” being released to the market, although it is not yet known what capabilities this app will have.
Although Musk is excited about the potential of artificial intelligence, he warned about its potential dangers if it is advanced too far. In March, he joined a chorus of other tech experts in calling for a pause on further AI development, particularly in terms of creating powerful AI systems like ChatGPT. According to Musk, advanced AI could limit or even eliminate human progress, and there is a risk of AI systems becoming weapons similar to those seen in the movie ‘The Terminator’.
X Corp is the corporate company Musk has established to bring his “everything app” to fruition. Established earlier this year, the company merged Twitter with it during the process. It is yet to be seen if the app will replace the existing social media platform, or be developed as an entirely new platform.
Elon Musk is an influential technology entrepreneur who has changed the world with his inventions and endeavors. With Tesla, he revolutionized how automobiles could be powered, and with SpaceX – his other major venture – he has made immense, groundbreaking progress on space exploration and rocket science. His ambition and vision have earned him accolades worldwide and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology is further exemplified by his announcement of the upcoming “everything app.”
