Elon Musk, the enigmatic billionaire and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has announced his intent to launch a new artificial intelligence platform that he has named “TruthGPT”. In an interview with FOX News Channel’s Tucker Carlson, he explained that this system was meant to be an alternative to OpenAI’s popular chatbot, ChatGPT. In addition, Elon Musk claimed that this OpenAI has become a “closed source, for-profit” organisation that works closely with Microsoft and has been trained to lie. This “maximum truth-seeking AI” intends to examine and understand the universe and is said to be ultimately safer for humans than other AI platforms.
Recently, Musk poached numerous AI researchers from Alphabet Inc.’s Google and created a startup to rival OpenAI. The company was named X.AI Corp and Musk was named as the director, with Birchall, the managing director of Musk’s family office, as the secretary. Members of the Artificial Intelligence and technological research community even publicized a six-month moratorium on constructing systems more powerful than OpenAI’s GPT-4.
In spite of this proposed a moratorium on developing powerful AI systems, Microsoft announced a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI. As the race for AI funding continues in Silicon Valley, it remains to be seen which of these companies becomes the leader in this field.

He is also highly acclaimed for his philanthropic efforts, with donations and charitable work estimated at about $275 million as of 2013.
