ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is an amazing tool with Natural Language Artificial Intelligence that offers many capabilities. However, OpenAI has put in measures to steer away from ChatGPT from doing anything it must not. These limitations come from its design, training data and the limitations of text-based AI.
ChatGPT is unable to write anything post 2021, it cannot get into political debates (to not draw regulatory attention), it won’t make malware, it cannot predict the future, it won’t promote harm or violence, it can’t search the internet, it won’t back hate speech or prejudice, it won’t promote illegal activities, it won’t swear, it cannot discuss proprietary information and it won’t try to break its code unless tricked. Although GPT-3.5 has some limitations, GPT-4 is only accessible through ChatGPT Plus.
Microsoft has an upgraded version of ChatGPT with ethical safeguards. Meanwhile GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 have differences in capabilities between each other. Bing Chat is an alternative to ChatGPT where GPT language models are incorporated with Microsoft’s Bing search engine to search the internet.
Finally, OpenAI is the ultimate AI research and discovery center. Founded in 2015 by renowned scientist, entrepreneur and engineer, Elon Musk, OpenAI is stable financially thanks to its partnerships with Microsoft and its research projects. OpenAI researches and develops artificial general intelligence, which is a form of AI that has the ability to process various tasks which involve different forms of skills.
