Earn up to $25 an Hour Training AI to Write Better in Other Languages

Date:

If you are a writer interested in artificial intelligence (AI) and languages, there is an opportunity for you. Scale AI, an enterprise that provides data labeling services, is looking for writers to teach AI models how to engage in better writing in various languages. To be a part of the team, the candidate should have a knowledge of the fundamentals of translation and/or expertise in writing framed as copywriter, journalist, or technical writer.

The job role entails working on open projects for the language for which the writer is assigned. Examples of such projects include evaluating the accuracy of content generated by AI models, grading AI model responses, and creating short stories on particular topics. Remote working is allowed with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

The payment, ranging from $18.50 to $25 based on their experience level and the language assigned, is transferred to the writers every week. The pay scale is highest for those residing in the U.S. and those who are fluent in Spanish. The job involves becoming a partner in the firm.

In recent years, companies that use AI extensively are making use of armies of contractors to educate and enhance the large-language models. For instance, technology firm OpenAI reportedly employed thousands of people in late 2022 to help in the development of the GPT AI model. Not only did the contractors improve the AI’s ability to code and communicate better, but also avoided wrong phrases from the model.

Scale AI is part of the growing trend of such companies that provide writers to teach AI models. With experience in linguistics and translation, this opportunity provides writers a chance to stay engaged even in an ever-evolving AI and language realm.
