Dubai Police Unveils Luxurious Electric Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 for Environmentally-Friendly Patrols
Dubai Police have recently introduced the environmentally-friendly electric Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 vehicle to their fleet of luxurious patrols. This addition aligns with the police force’s ongoing commitment to utilizing green vehicles and promoting sustainable practices. The new patrol car, adorned in the force’s signature green livery, was officially unveiled by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, at the Dubai Police Officers Club.
The unveiling ceremony witnessed the presence of Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, and Lieutenant Colonel Musa Mubarak Abdullah, Head of the Tourist Security Patrols Section. Representatives from the Gargash Group, including Ali Anwar Gargash, Deputy General Manager, Khaled Al Marzouqi, Sales Manager, and Donovan, Sales Manager, were also in attendance for the official handover.
During the ceremony, Al Mansouri and Al Jallaf were briefed about the notable features of the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580. This impressive vehicle boasts a dual-engine that generates a powerful 516 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Furthermore, it has a remarkable range of up to 717 kilometers (WLTP) on a full charge. Equipped with advanced artificial intelligence systems and interactive screens, the EQS 580 provides drivers with essential information and ensures a seamless driving experience.
Maj Gen Al Mansouri emphasized the significance of incorporating supercars into the fleet, particularly in enhancing security presence across popular tourist destinations such as the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, and JBR. The EQS 580 will be stationed at prominent tourist spots, enabling police officers to offer a wide range of services to the public and tourists, while simultaneously raising awareness about the community role of the Dubai Police.
Shehab Gargash, Managing Director and Group CEO of Gargash Group, expressed pride in collaborating with Dubai Police, supporting the transition of government entities towards sustainable mobility solutions and assuring the UAE’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions on the roads.
