Doctors Turning to ChatGPT to Reduce Workload as Patients Prefer

Date:

A latest study has found that ChatGPT, an AI assistant, provides better and more sympathetic advice than real doctors, being preferred by users to GPs. The medical panel was asked to compare the answers of ChatGPT and doctors to the same medical questions and they found that ChatGPT responses were almost three-and-a-half times more likely to be of a superior quality and nine times as likely to be more sympathetic. The researchers from California suggest that in the near future, Robo-docs could potentially help to alleviate the workload of GPs.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence assistant developed with natural language processing and machine learning for providing automated customer support. It utilises advanced language models to interpret conversational content and generate natural language responses. Additionally, it can also detect sentiment, emotion, and intent, helping it provide more human-like interactive customer experience.

The study was conducted under the lead of Professor Thomas Fuchs Usinger, a professor of Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Working in collaboration with his team, Professor Usinger is dedicated to providing AI-based solutions that help organizations to offer better customer experience. His research also aims at leveraging advances in AI and voice technology to develop more human-like AI assistants.
