Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Law recently organized a virtual panel discussion to explore the use of artificial intelligence-powered algorithms such as ChatGPT within the fields of computer science, education, and law. This was the latest in the Law & Tech Talks series, and the panel featured distinguished guests including Dr. Susan L. Karamanian, Dean of HBKU’s College of Law, and Dr. Amal Al Malki, Founding Dean of HBKU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The talk covered the potential implications of AI-powered language generation and its impact on communication. The implications of introducing AI-based programs into a legal context were discussed, as well as the thorny subject of written essay assessments.
