Ammaar Reshi, a techpreneur from the United Kingdom, is no stranger to mastering technology for his own benefit. His recently successful attempt? Making use of OpenAI’s powerful chatbot, ChatGPT (which stands for chat general purpose technology) to write a children’s book. Ammar is at it again and this time he has used the same chatbot and a plugin from Instacart to make a budget-friendly grocery shopping experience.
The techpreneur had a budget of $100 which he divided into four shopping bots. For breakfast and dinner, he suggested his preferences while lunch was given to ChatGPT’s discretion. To narrow down his preferences for dinner, he asked the AI to make meals for Pakistani, Chinese or Italian cuisines without alcohol, pork or dairy (as he is lactose intolerant).
Much to his surprise, the chatbot came up with a meal plan which not only included quick breakfast options, simple lunch options and a banger dinner option but also gave detailed information on the prep, ingredients and everything else needed to shop from Instacart. Not just that, it also asked the user to review the list and make any adjustments according to his needs.
The chatbot was able to curate 25 items which included all the necessary ingredients for the user. Ammaar was able to make use of this feature and further saved a hassle of going out to pick groceries in the middle of a pandemic.
What makes Open AI’s ChatGPT interesting is that it can help a range of users to do numerous tasks ranging from grocery shopping to creating a book. The power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be seen in this technology as it can understand and give a unique user interaction in different forms every time.
Ammaar Reshi, who has been working in the tech industry for several years and has recently articulated a book with the help of ChatGPT, has not just tested the limits of AI but also given us an idea of its potential. He is an inspiration to us all, demonstrating the creative and practical application of technology in the daily lives of people.
