Delhi Residents Experience Uncomplicated Access to Government Websites Following Launch of 180 New Sites by CM Kejriwal

Date:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched 180 new government websites to make accessing government services easier for citizens of Delhi. This initiative was taken so that the usage of cloud-based website will reduce the risk of a server crash, thus making government websites faster, more reliable and easily accessible. To top it off, this new portal gives the citizens the unique privilege of accessing the 50 different departments of the Delhi Government with just a single click.

Using modern technology, the new website additionally eliminates the chances of a crash even when there is an increase in traffic of up to a couple of lakhs per second. This is also expected to help during the COVID 19 pandemic, when the Delhi Government had announced various initiatives for its citizens. The government had then faced issues in websites crashing due to the sudden surge in website traffic.

Kailash Gahlot, Delhi’s IT Minister, mentioned how this step by the government will help in guaranteeing better delivery of public services. He also said that this initiative was necessary because the old technology was no longer able to sustain the increasing demand for government services online, resulting in outages and breakdowns.

The new websites are hosted on a secure cloud data centre which will enable them to offer faster loading time, better performance, improved user experience and high reliability. An agency has also been engaged by Delhi’s IT Department to design, develop, host, operate and maintain the Delhi Government’s websites by using the latest technology and standards.

Apart from the new websites, people are also mourning the passing of Punjab’s Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who passed away at the age of 95. Mr. Badal was the patron of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and served as the Chief Minister of Punjab from March 1997 to February 2017, amongst various other offices he held.

Overall, the new initiated taken by the Delhi Government will help in making accessing government services easily and quickly. This is a step that will not only increase efficiency but also make daily lives of its citizens much simpler.
