DeepMind’s AI Enhances Algorithms through Game-Based Learning

London-based lab DeepMind has leveraged its expertise in board games to revolutionize the computing ecosystem. Google’s AI subsidiary has unveiled AlphaDev, an AI system that unearths new fundamental algorithms, with its latest discovery surpassing the algorithms honed over decades by human experts. The first target for the project is sorting algorithms, which dominate the underlying determination of device performance, from search rankings to movie recommendations. AlphaDev is based on a gaming model and works on the principles of reinforcement learning through trial and error. The algorithm builder has now been developed to refine the entire computing infrastructure, enhancing processes while saving valuable time and energy.
