Databricks Marketplace has been serving as an open platform since last year, allowing data consumers and providers to discover, share, and monetize data products like datasets, notebooks, and dashboards without replication or complicated ETL. With the addition of lakehouse apps, Databricks is expanding this ecosystem to include third-party apps that leverage next-gen technologies, such as large language models, to unlock the value of data. The company is working with multiple Lakehouse apps, including those from Retool, Lamini, Posit, and Kumo AI. Databricks Marketplace will also enable easy access to AI models developed and provided by third parties. Data providers, such as IQVIA, Corelogic, and LIVE RAMP, will also be added to its marketplace.
