Artificial intelligence is gaining traction worldwide, and ChatGPT is one of the first AI tools that is available to the public. To get started, you need to sign up for a free account, which provides access to the ChatGPT start page and some examples of its capabilities.
In comparison to a search engine, ChatGPT is more like having a conversation. You can obtain information by inputting questions known as ‘prompts’ into the system. If the answer provided is not helpful, there is a regenerate response button that provides a different answer.
Through prompts, you can obtain recipes, meal plans, comparisons, or even have Blackhole concepts explained in a way that appeals to a 10-year-old.
The community of persons using ChatGPT refers to these prompts, and they form search threads that allow for follow-up questions. Therefore, all your interactions are compiled as a thread in ChatGPT, saving you the trouble of having to start afresh every time.
To begin a new thread, click on the New Chat button located at the top. ChatGPT is not directly connected to the internet, and its information base is limited to the last fed data, which happened in 2021. Hence, anything that has occurred beyond this point has not been captured on ChatGPT.
Users should be mindful that ChatGPT is not always accurate; therefore, one should verify the information they receive from it independently to make informed decisions.
One advantage of ChatGPT is that it can create meal plans based on one’s preferences and dietary restrictions, alongside the ingredients present. For instance, it can generate numerous meal ideas using chicken and rice, which one can either follow-up with questions based on specific dishes or choose a recipe to prepare.
ChatGPT is suitable for those whose internet research quest involves compiling information on various products. By inputting specific parameters, ChatGPT will create a table for you to compare different products, a fitting example will be a prompt to create a table for the best-used compact SUVs using the average price, mpg ratings, crash test ratings, passengers, exterior dimensions, and cargo space.
Lastly, you can explore limitless possibilities on ChatGPT; the internet is a rich source of information on various people’s experience with the platform. Through an Internet or social media search, you can learn new prompts suitable for your interests, for example, AI prompts for marketing.
