Daiwa Allows Employees to Use ChatGPT in Technological Initiative

Date:

Daiwa Securities Group has authorized around 9,000 of its workers in Japan to freely use ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, as the brokerage explores the potential of rapidly evolving technologies. This development follows global banks’ growing interest in AI and its likely impact on business. In addition, Daiwa has been strengthening its recruitment of science graduates to develop high-tech experts for in-house positions. Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase & Co. are also incorporating AI into their operations, with the former using it to scan wealthy client portfolios, while the latter is advertising more AI roles than any of its competitors.

The CEO of Daiwa, Seiji Nakata, stated that the firm began the experiment in April. This move is an attempt to keep up with Wall Street, where AI is revolutionizing operations and causing increasing interest in the technology. As Daiwa Securities Group explores the potential offered by AI chatbots, it aims to keep pace with other financial institutions worldwide. In addition, there is a focus on recruiting science graduates to develop in-house technology experts.

With AI technology creating a buzz around the globe, the financial industry is primed for transformation. By incorporating AI into operations, banks can better serve clients, streamline processes, and save time. Daiwa Securities Group hopes that, by allowing its employees to freely use ChatGPT, it will be better positioned to keep up with other global banks with a similar focus on incorporating AI technology.
