Cyera Labs Launches SafeType for Enhanced Data Privacy and Secure ChatGPT Usage

Date:

Cyera, a data security company, recently introduced its security research division’s latest innovation – the SafeType browser extension. This extension serves to anonymize confidential information that is processed through the ChatGPT platform. With SafeType, businesses can make use of generative AI capabilities more securely – preventing the accidental transmission of sensitive data.

Yotam Segev, co-founder and CEO of Cyera, affirms the transformative power of generative AI and recognizes the need to protect privacy while enabling individuals to use the technology. By leveraging their static classifiers, which are specifically designed for 10 common data classes, SafeType helps to both raise awareness of these sensitive data classes and offers further protection from accidental data leakage.

SafeType can be downloaded from the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge stores, and from the Cyera website where it is licensed through the permissive Apache 2.0 license. This provides developers the option to use the code for their own applications and contribute to the project. They ensure that SafeType is entirely independent from their data security platform which means that no code is shared and it cannot interact with the platform in anyway.

Bogomil Balkansky, a partner at Sequoia Capital, says he is particularly excited about Cyera’s opportunity to aid businesses to harness the experimental potential of ChatGPT in a secure manner. The data security company’s vision is to allow all businesses to benefit from the full potential of data such as improved customer connection and efficient collaboration.

Cyera is a data security company striving to create secure solutions for businesses and customers. Based in the United States and Israel, Cyera has worked with companies in a variety of industries to create state-of-the-art data safety solutions using AI-powered tools. The growth-stage startup has received investments from top funds such as Sequoia Capital, TLV Partners and Google Play. Yotam Segev, the company’s co-founder and CEO, has over 11 years’ experience in software development, security and AI. With his years of experience, Yotam was the perfect leader to spearhead Cyera’s transformative journey.
