Cybersecurity Startups Compete for $2M Seed Capital at DataTribe Challenge
Business and technology leaders are coming together in Fulton for the sixth annual DataTribe Challenge, where three innovative cybersecurity and data science startups will vie for the opportunity to secure up to $2 million in seed capital. The three finalists, Ceritas, Dapple Security, and Ampsight, have been carefully selected from a pool of applicants to present their groundbreaking ideas to a panel of expert judges at DataTribe’s headquarters.
The esteemed judging panel comprises Jim Routh, a renowned adviser and board member at multiple cyber firms, former CISO at MassMutual, Aetna, and the American Stock Exchange; William MacMillan, Chief Product Officer at Red Cell Partners, former Senior Vice President of Cybersecurity at Salesforce and former CISO at CIA; Kristen Edwards Marquardt, Head of Digital and Cyber, NA at Hakluyt, former Senior Vice President and Chief Cyber Strategist at Bank of America; Navin Maharaj, Director at Koch Disruptive Technologies; and Bob Ackerman, Founder and Managing Director of AllegisCyber and co-founder of DataTribe.
Ceritas, headquartered in Massachusetts, offers a unique solution called Hardware Bill of Materials (HBOM) vulnerability analysis and Digital Bill of Materials (DBOM) data transfer. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), Ceritas aids companies in reducing risk by continuously monitoring equipment in use and conducting thorough purchasing due diligence. The company’s expertise lies in identifying known vulnerability relationships, allowing for effective risk reduction.
Dapple Security, based in Colorado, brings a revolutionary capability to the table. Their solution enables secure system logins without storing sensitive user identity data. Instead, Dapple Security regenerates the required authentication data at the time of login, preventing phishing and similar attacks that rely on stolen credentials. By eliminating the need to store sensitive data, this innovation preserves user privacy and significantly reduces the risk of data breaches. Dapple Security’s patent-pending technology seamlessly integrates with a range of leading biometric capture and authentication platforms.
Ampsight, headquartered in Virginia, is at the forefront of AI risk management with its flagship solution, Nucleus. This AI Risk Management software caters specifically to Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and offers an automated generation of risk and trustworthiness scorecards and recommendations. Nucleus ensures the proper utilization of AI and Machine Learning (ML) models within organizations, providing invaluable insights and maintaining a secure environment.
The DataTribe Challenge serves as a platform for these startups to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and compete for essential seed capital. With cybersecurity and data protection becoming increasingly critical in today’s digital landscape, events like this help propel innovative solutions forward. The winner of the challenge will not only secure vital funding but also gain industry recognition and support.
As technology continues to advance, the need for robust cybersecurity measures becomes paramount. The DataTribe Challenge not only demonstrates the industry’s commitment to fostering innovation but also the value placed on protecting sensitive data in an ever-evolving digital world.
