Travel companies are increasingly leveraging generative AI to provide services that offer better customer experiences. Such is the case of ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research nonprofit unveiled in the past few months. Leveraging this technology, companies are offering tools that assist customers in the booking and travel process. Hospitable, a software service that helps short-term rental hosts manage properties, has developed a ChatGPT integration that generates draft responses to guest messages. By pressing a “magical wand”, the context of the booking, along with the conversation history, is sent to ChatGPT, generating a reply. From there, further adjustments may not be necessary, with nearly half of the time leading to an automated reply being sent to the guest.
Pierre-Camille Hamana, the CEO of Hospitable, was the one leading the charge for the integration. Implementing the tool was a rather simple process, taking only four hours of development in early April. The tool has already had quite a bit of impact, and Hamana believes it will revolutionize the industry. Other companies have also started leveraging this technology, such as Hotels Network, offering a generative AI tool for hotel marketers to create personalized website messages in just seconds. QuadLabs Technologies is developing an AI-powered itinerary builder, while GuideGeeks offers a global travel assistant built on ChatGPT. Breezeway and Turneo enabled a suggested replies tool, and Akin created a personalized, multilingual AI concierge. All these offer advances that will help travel smoother and more efficient, and with these advances, travelers can be sure to expect faster and more accurate replies.
