Defence startup Big Bang Boom Solutions (BBBS) from Chennai is set to export anti-drone products to Africa following a significant order from the Indian Air Force and Indian Army. The company, known for its cutting-edge technology, has secured orders exceeding Rs 200 crore and is gearing up to supply its innovative products to countries like Kenya, Nigeria, and Seychelles in Africa.
R Shivaraman, director and CTO of BBBS, revealed that the company is expecting the official Letter of Intent (LoI) shortly, with the first shipment scheduled for the first quarter of the upcoming financial year. Apart from their foray into African markets, BBBS is also engaging with potential clients in the Middle East and Southeast Asia as part of their expansion strategy.
BBBS has been actively involved in the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) program initiated by the defence ministry, receiving five projects to develop advanced technologies for the defence sector. The company’s Vajra Sentinel System, designed to detect, track, and neutralize drones over long distances, has garnered attention for its use of cutting-edge RF sensor technology and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The system promises precise identification and classification of drones, ensuring enhanced security measures for border surveillance and threat detection. With the current order set to be fulfilled over the next one to two years, BBBS is making significant strides in the defence technology sector, solidifying its position as a key player in the global market.
