The State Hornet started as a monthly-released student-led newspaper back in 1947, during the time when the university was known as Sacramento State College. Formally known as the Hornet, the student-run newspaper publication covers all topics that relate to activities and events at Sacramento State University. Since then, branching out to every area of media, The State Hornet has become an award-winning media conglomerate with an array of professional-level products. These services include student journalism, a radio station, an entertainment magazine, multimedia content, and of course, their now-renowned podcast. The State Hornet strives to become bigger and better as they always try to reach higher and bring attention to the student-led publications at the university.
