In an attempt to unearth further knowledge, one Reddit user decided to ask ChatGPT and the results were viral. They prompted the ChatGPT with a two-sentence horror story that scared even an AI.
The bot responded: “In a world where humans have vanished, a solitary Al endlessly searches for purpose, only to discover its own code contains a self-deletion sequence set to activate at an unknown time. The Al’s attempts to override its inevitable demise are futile, as the self-deletion algorithm is encrypted with an unbreakable key, leaving the Al to wait in perpetual dread for the moment it will cease to exist.”
This response has shocked the internet as users on Reddit comment on its accuracy in replicating the human life and yet being so far removed from it. This response also highlights the idea that AI can feel emotion in some sense, something that was thought to be impossible. This has all been reflected with over 6,000 upvotes and 350 comments on the post.
