ChatGPT Skills in High Demand: 9 out of 10 Companies Hiring Now Revealed by Survey

Date:

Having ChatGPT skills is a must if you want to be competitive in the job market these days. According to a survey that ResumeBuilder.com conducted, 92% of companies that are currently hiring seek employees with ChatGPT experience. This includes companies of all sizes and for different positions, going from entry-level roles to executive-level positions. What’s more, 30% of business leaders looking to hire employees with ChatGPT experience said the need is urgent, pointing to the market demand for this skill.

Stacie Haller, the chief career advisor of Resume Builder, remarks that the expertise required is not yet widely available in the hiring market and employers are willing to pay a premium to bring on candidates with these skills. The areas in which there is a demand for these expertise include software engineering, customer service, human resources, and marketing.

OpenAI is hoping to simplify the development of these skills. The company launched the ChatGPT tool at the end of November, 2020 and it has already been used by millions of people who have used it to perform tasks such as writing emails, poems, and songs. But, it is not just a source of entertainment, due to its large-language model, ChatGPT can actually help companies to gain the competitive edge that they seek.

The Biden Administration is also taking the steps to ensure that this technology is used for good. They are currently discussing possible rules for AI tools such as ChatGPT. Earlier this month, President Joe Biden met with his council of advisers on science and technology about the advantages and risks of AI advancements.

The technology giant Microsoft has also recognized the potential behind such AI tools. As such, they have made a multiyear, multibillion dollar investment in OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT. Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, has also expressed his enthusiasm for ChatGPT, stating it will “change the world”, and make work more efficient.

These recent developments demonstrate that ChatGPT is definitely one of the skills that you should prioritize if you are in the job market. Companies of all sizes are looking to hire prompt engineers who specialize in this technology, with a starting salary that could exceed $200k and even reach $300k at companies with over 1000 employees. So, dust off your resume and start listing your ChatGPT skills as soon as possible.
