ChatGPT Dish Impressive Enough to Stun Michelin-Star Chef

Date:

The ChatGPT recipe which ‘blew away’ a Michelin-star chef is a dish that has been conceived not by an up-and-coming cook nor even a rival. Surprisingly, the dish was created by an AI technology known as ChatGPT.

The Telegraph asked the Silicon Valley Chatbot to come up with three Michelin star quality dishes using local British ingredients as well as some other rules tested its ingenuity. One of the dishes had to be pescatarian with an “innovative twist.” Meanwhile, the third dish was stipulated to be vegan featuring an emulsion. In less than 30 seconds, ChatGPT proposed a quail dish, seared scallops with celeriac purée and a fennel salad for vegan diners.

Large food companies are already utilizing AI to analyze consumer trends and develop new products. Fast food corporations such as McDonalds are streamlining ordering and delivery processes with this technology. The refinement seen in the recipes created by ChatGPT is a demonstration of the potential of AI to go beyond the fast food industry.

The recipe was presented to Michelin-starred chef Chris Galvin and he was astonished by the output. “It has really blown me away actually” He stated. Moreover, Dr. James Canton, chairman and chief executive of the US-based think tank The Institute for Global Futures, shared his views about how robots could be used in restaurants to address the staff shortages, a problem which the pandemic has particularly emphasized.

In this day and age, robots are being used in kitchens to make certain processes much more efficient. Companies like Satis.Ai are introducing their “AI Vision Kitchen Brain”, a camera placed above a chef’s workstation which monitors food preparation and notifies whether there are errors. Companies like these intend to make chefs’ workload easier while also making food more consistent in terms of quality.

The profitable utilization of robots in the restaurant trade has generated ethical questions related to health and safety. Moreover, some fear that robots could take away jobs from humans. To summarise, the potential of AI in this area will all come down to how good the food tastes.

This article revealed the groundbreaking advancements that AI technology is now making in the restaurant industry. The power and success of this technology is proving to have the potential to revolutionize the way dishes are created, and how labour shortages can be addressed. It is clear that AI is changing the culinary industry for the better and it will be interesting to follow its development throughout the coming years.
