Participants who utilized ChatGPT completed their tasks 40% faster and received assessments scoring 18% higher in quality compared to those who did not use the AI tool. Both skilled writers and those considered weaker displayed significant improvements in their output when leveraging ChatGPT.
Lead author Shakked Noy highlights the exceptional ability of ChatGPT to generate written content and automate parts of the writing process, ultimately saving considerable time. Noy predicts that the widespread adoption of ChatGPT will have a transformative impact on the structure of white-collar work.

Riku Arakawa, a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University specializing in workers’ use of language models, points out the positive outcomes resulting from the collaboration between humans and AI.
