Nowadays many people have decided to shift away from using Google to look for tech advice, and they now turn to a conversational, AI-generated chatbot named ChatGPT. According to the results of a recent survey, an impressive 66% of respondents chose ChatGPT over Google when searching for IT advice.
The most common tech-related questions asked by users in the US include how to fix a computer that is no longer responding, slow internet connections, sluggish computer systems, and overheated phones. Gen Z, Millennials, and Baby Boomers all cite ChatGPT when it comes to IT advice, with the emergence generation being the most prominent (83%).
To understand the quality of the advice given by ChatGPT, an additional survey was done that involved 200 IT professionals. The experts judged ChatGPT’s help on four of the most-searched tech questions in the US; ChatGPT achieved a score of 39 out of 100, granting it an overall accuracy rate of 39%.
In some cases, ChatGPT even earned higher scores such as the response to the question “How do I make my internet faster?” which received an accuracy score of 74.
