OpenAI’s ChatGPT App has made a big splash in the world of artificial intelligence, and it has been downloaded more than 500,000 times in just 6 days since its launch. Initially made available to users in the US App Store and then 11 more global markets, the app has become one of the most successful new app releases in the last year or so. This success is even more remarkable considering that there have been several apps posing as legitimate ChatGPT products, exploiting users by charging high fees for access.
Data.ai found that in the first 5 days of its launch in the US, the ChatGPT app achieved over 480,000 installs. This number puts it in the top 0.1 percent of all digital products in terms of first-day downloads and surpasses the performance of other AI-based chatbots available on the App Store.
