Carebox and Gastric Cancer Foundation Launch GCF Clinical Trial Finder, Connecting Patients to Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Date:

Carebox and the Gastric Cancer Foundation (GCF) have announced the launch of the GCF Clinical Trial Finder, a web application that provides patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with an easy and effective way to search and match gastric cancer clinical trials. This collaboration aims to improve the lives of people affected by gastric cancer and aid in finding a cure.

The GCF Clinical Trial Finder allows patients or caregivers to fill out an online questionnaire specific to their gastric cancer, and instantly receive information on potentially relevant clinical trials. They can then be connected to a trial site for further steps. Clinical trial navigators are also available over the phone or email to assist in the search process and guide patients and caregivers to research centers or hospitals where trials are taking place.

The trial database of the GCF Clinical Trial Finder is updated daily with information from ClinicalTrials.gov, which is maintained by the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. Utilizing human-supervised AI, Carebox converts the unstructured text from ClinicalTrials.gov into a searchable index of clinical criteria that matches patient characteristics.

Stacie Hershman, the Executive Director of the Gastric Cancer Foundation, believes that this partnership with Carebox will make the latest gastric cancer treatment options more accessible to the community. The GCF Clinical Trial Finder is accessible through the Gastric Cancer Foundation website, which also features a Carebox embedded widget for visitors to request assistance from a clinical trial navigator.

Assaf Levi, VP of Engineering at Carebox, explains that the GCF Clinical Trial Finder is not only a website but also an extension of Salesforce CRM. This allows seamless support to patients and caregivers through online and call center services, ensuring effective connection to research sites. The platform also provides analytics for the Gastric Cancer Foundation to gain insights into patient populations and treatment needs.

They have created the first comprehensive Gastric Cancer Registry and fund studies that pave the way for better patient outcomes. By partnering with Carebox, they can further their research, education, and advocacy goals.

Carebox, as a leading provider of clinical trial matching solutions, connects patients and physicians with clinical trials. They address challenges faced by patients and their families in finding advanced treatment options and support pharmaceutical companies in recruiting for clinical trials.

Overall, the collaboration between Carebox and the Gastric Cancer Foundation aims to empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals by providing easy access to gastric cancer clinical trials, ultimately working towards finding a cure for this disease.
