Canva — the online design platform used to create logos, presentations, infographics, and more — recently announced a brand new suite of AI-powered tools that will revolutionize their platform and make creating well-designed visuals much easier. These new tools can generate entirely new images, translate graphics into more than 100 languages, and even automatically edit video footage to fit a song.
The first feature from the suite is named Magic Design. It will take an uploaded image and a chosen style to apply to the image to create a new graphic. It also has Magic Edit and Magic Eraser for refining the image, and Beat Sync for automatically editing your video footage. Moreover, with MagicWrite, users can generate text for their slides or graphics that blend with the rest of the design.
In addition to the AI tools, Canva is also releasing Brand Hub, a helpful feature for businesses that need to manage templates, folders, and approval workflows for their company. It also introduces several popularly requested features such as drawing tools, layers, gradients, alt text for images, and 953 new fonts.
This suite of AI tools comes shortly after the rise of ChatGPT and Bing Chat’s DALL-E 2 integration. These tools show the increasing trend of AI-based features in design platforms, with Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, receiving features like color match, morph cut, and automatic reframing — all powered by AI.
Canva’s new suite of AI tools rival any feature offered by an AI-powered video editor, and they are certain to set the bar for user-friendly design platforms. These tools enable designers to complete tasks faster than ever before and take customization to a whole new level.
