Bito, a B2B startup from Menlo Park that offers a range of tools for software developers, has launched a new AI assistant designed to make coding easier. Dubbed Bito AI, the assistant is powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT language model and works by allowing developers to ask it to complete software development tasks in one of 25 supported languages. Bito AI can generate unit tests, explain code, add comments to functions, improve code performance, check for known security issues and offer insight into technical concepts, among other features. It can also learn from a user’s own codebase, but keeps all information on the device, routing natural language queries to ChatGPT 2.5 and ChatGPT 4. The tool is currently in alpha and free to use.
