OpenAI has recently announced a partnership with Microsoft Bing to be the default search engine used in their new ChatGPT Plus service. This is a major development in OpenAI’s relationship with Microsoft, where the latter has been a key investor in the former for the past four years.
Yusuf Mehdi, head of consumer marketing at Microsoft, wrote a blog post outlining how this new collaboration could make finding results faster, more reliable and reliable sources of information included with search results. Starting with paying ChatGPT users, OpenAI plans to soon extend access to those using the free version of the service with a plug-in feature.
Back in February, Microsoft introduced an improved version of ChatGPT on its Bing search engine, a move which puts it in direct competition with Google for Artificial Intelligence based search services.
