Bing Chat is in need of ChatGPT’s feature right now in order to improve the user experience. Currently the missing feature is the history of chat threads, this prevents users from easily referencing back on conversations that they had. This can be seen mainly on phone, as getting access to the history you had previously discussed is a chore. As it stands, ChatGPT is a step above as it allows users to access previous topics in the sidebar that have been automatically saved. However, ChatGPT does not have a mobile app yet for its website.
But Microsoft has the capability to take this feature further, one being to be able to have accessed within other Microsoft 365 connected apps such as Outlook or Microsoft To Do. Furthermore, for those using Bing Chat on a desktop browser, the extension Bing Chat History can be added and the conversations will be saved into it for future reference or even for exporting. However, any conversations done in the Edge Sidebar will not be saved.
Overall, Bing Chat is seen as a useful research tool, however, due to the lacking feature it becomes limited in what it can do. To compensate, Bing Chat can add the feature that ChatGPT has and immediately improve the user experience. The extension Bing Chat History is seen as a good alternative, however, missing conversations from the Edge Sidebar makes it incomplete.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence application created for the purpose of general conversations. It is built with a Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3 (GPT-3) model, which is used to generate natural language responses from a given input. The GPT-3 model uses large scale deep learning technique to learn patterns from information available on the web. As a result, it has the capability to provide accurate and human-like responses to any conversation topic.
