Big Bang Boom Solutions Establishes Naval Research and Development Center

Big Bang Boom Solutions (BBBS) has set up a Naval Research and Development Center (NRDC) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This was inaugurated by Admiral Karambir Singh as part of the cutting-edge new age facility and infrastructure that BBBS is eager to provide to the armed forces in the country.

BBBS, a fast-growing startup in the defence sector, will focus on various projects in the NRDC, such as passive naval deterrence, electronic warfare systems, fire detection and suppression, high expansion foaming systems, and oil spill containment, among many others. The ribbon cutting ceremony of the NRDC was done in the presence of Rear Admiral Sourirajullu Ramsagar and Commodore Arun Pratap Golaya.

BBBS was founded in 2018 by Dr Shivaraman Ramaswamy and Praveen Dwarakanath, both experienced entrepreneurs with remarkable track records. It has won two prestigious iDEX grants from the Defence Innovation Organization and Department of Defence Production and is continuing to provide cutting-edge technological systems to the Indian Armed Forces. In order to further its success, they have been awarded multiple awards by Skoch and their products were showcased at Defence Expo, Aero India, and iDex in Abu Dhabi. BBBS also aims to focus on anti-drone defence, see-through armor concept, and various other offerings.

Dr Shivaraman Ramaswamy, Director and CTO of BBBS, said, “We are honored to be chosen by the Navy to partner them in the Naval Research and Development Center. We are confident in bringing our experience in defence and research to add value to the Navy. The cutting-edge new age facility and infrastructure will also help in strengthening the value BBBS brings to the armed forces in the country.”

As the government declared the defence sector as one of the core investment areas of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, BBBS has managed to gain considerable success regarding awards and collaborations. Besides being awarded the prestigious SKOCH award, the company has also been granted incubation facilities with T-Hub in Hyderabad and Forge in Coimbatore.
