Baidu, China’s search and AI giant, has announced that its chatbot, Ernie Bot, is using an artificial intelligence-powered large language model (LLM) that outperforms OpenAI’s groundbreaking ChatGPT in a range of key metrics. Ernie 3.5, the latest LLM from the company, achieved comprehensive ability tests superior tests to ChatGPT 3.5 and ChatGPT 4 in a range of Chinese-language capabilities. Ernie Bot, built on Ernie 3.0, is already demonstrating broad enhancements in functionality, efficacy and performance, according to Haifeng Wang, Baidu’s chief technology officer. Moreover, plug-in Baidu Search enables Ernie Bot to generate real-time, precise information.
