Amazon Unveils AI Business Assistant Q to Take on ChatGPT
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced its latest AI chatbot, named Q, specifically designed for business environments. The announcement was made at the AWS re:Invent conference, where Amazon emphasized Q’s focus on security and privacy. The chatbot enables customers to generate content using their own business data.
Q is currently available in a preview form in select US markets and offers two subscription tiers: Business at $20 per month and Builder at $25 per month. The Business tier provides users with a problem-solving chatbot that can extract insights from company data. Similar to other enterprise chatbots, Q allows users to ask questions, accelerating search results and improving task completion efficiency.
The Builder tier, on the other hand, caters to developers and IT professionals, helping with debugging, code optimization, and upgrading code languages like Java. AWS assures customers that the content of their data is never used to train the underlying AI models of Amazon Q.
Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS data and AI VP, stated, Amazon Q builds on AWS’s history of taking complex, expensive technologies and making them accessible to customers of all sizes and technical abilities, with a data-first approach and enterprise-grade security and privacy built-in from the start.
Despite its notable security features, Amazon Q enters a competitive market where other companies have already introduced their chatbot solutions for enterprises. Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled generative AI advancements for Dynamics 365 Copilot, aimed at streamlining repetitive business tasks. Likewise, OpenAI launched ChatGPT Enterprise in August, offering enhanced security and privacy measures for businesses.
As enterprises continue to embrace AI-driven solutions, Amazon’s Q aims to provide a reliable and privacy-focused option. With its accessibility and data-centric approach, Amazon Q opens up possibilities for organizations across various sectors.
