Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched new security features to help users maintain the strength of their security posture while fighting against evolving threats. These products and features are aimed at centralizing security and Identity and Access Management (IAM) protocols and making it easier for cloud users to maintain their security posture. AWS CISO CJ Moses talked about the need for strong security both within the cloud and of the cloud itself. He also outlined a threat detection algorithm that can determine the motivation and perpetrator behind cyberattacks, bringing to light AWS’ collection of data over the years relating to security incidents from its customers as intelligence to develop better security solutions. AWS Security Lake, one of the core components available to its customers, includes automated processes to lift the burden of manual threat detection. Amazon CodeGuru Security, which uses Machine Learning to find issues in developers’ written codes, is now in public preview. Other announcements include new open-source language for authorization policy writing and enforcement.
