Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. has officially appointed Sarah Stanford as the CEO of Aspen UK, a decision that was recently approved by the Aspen UK Boards. Stanford, who had been serving as the Interim CEO of Aspen UK since January 17, 2024, will now take on the role permanently.
In a related move, Dan Osman will be stepping into Sarah Stanford’s former position as the active underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711. Osman, who currently holds the title of Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) at Aspen Insurance UK (AIUK), will now juggle both responsibilities.
Osman, who joined Aspen in January 2018 as a senior underwriter, brings with him a wealth of experience from his 17-year tenure in the banking industry. His background includes roles in credit research, trading, and portfolio management, making him a valuable addition to the team at Aspen.
Meanwhile, Howden Tiger, the reinsurance and capital advisory arm of Howden Group, has promoted Bhaskar Chattaraj to the newly created position of Chief Science Officer (CSO). Chattaraj, who has been with the company since 2009 and most recently served as head of Cat Modeling and Research & Development, will now lead the charge in developing cutting-edge risk management frameworks and catastrophe modeling solutions.
Chattaraj’s extensive experience in the field, spanning over 25 years, positions him as a key player in driving innovation and providing clients with state-of-the-art solutions. As CSO, he will oversee a dedicated R&D team tasked with developing next-generation catastrophe risk management models and frameworks, with a particular focus on leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
