Apple’s Vision Pro: AI integration with ChatGPT is a Must

Date:

Apple’s highly anticipated Vision Pro mixed reality headset was unveiled at WWDC 2023 recently, with a hefty price tag of $3,499. The device is geared towards high-end computing and not just gaming. However, a generative AI service comparable to ChatGPT is needed to take the device to the next level.

Artificial Intelligence is crucial for the future of computing. It can interpret and deliver actions according to your current context, as well as help with tasks and online searches. ChatGPT can run on the Vision Pro via OpenAI’s app or third-party software, but Apple needs to develop its own first-party option.

While Siri is improving, it is not yet on par with ChatGPT or Google Bard. Apple is most likely working on specific AI capabilities for the Vision Pro, which features over a dozen cameras for eye and hand-tracking, and can respond to Siri commands. The AR/VR headset is powered by an M2 System-on-Chip (SoC) processor, which will allow AI features to be run on-device.

The Vision Pro’s battery life is its weakest point, but it is a necessary compromise as it is not tethered to a computer. A generative AI like ChatGPT could be the solution to making the most of the device’s hardware while dealing with the limited battery life.

With Apple’s focus on privacy, the AI experience on the Vision Pro could offer a personalized touch. The possibility of Siri voice commands being used to code apps is also exciting.

All in all, the Vision Pro is a major step towards the future of computing, but it needs AI capabilities to truly shine. It is a compromise for now, but technology is constantly evolving and improving, offering hope for even better devices in the future.
