Apple Watch Series 10 expected to offer larger screens and faster chips, but faces challenges with new health features
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the highly anticipated Apple Watch Series 10 is set to come with a larger display and an upgraded chip, promising improved performance. However, the device’s new health monitoring capabilities are facing hurdles in development.
The design of the Apple Watch Series 10 is said to be similar to its predecessor, with the main difference being a thinner profile. While the Apple Watch Ultra will not see a redesign this year, both models are expected to feature larger screens for a more immersive user experience.
Notably, Apple is planning to introduce new processors for the Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, succeeding last year’s S9 chip. While these advancements could pave the way for future AI enhancements, there are no immediate plans to integrate Apple Intelligence into the devices.
The tech giant has been working on health features such as hypertension and sleep apnea detection, initially scheduled for a 2024 release. However, challenges have arisen during testing, with issues surrounding reliability and legal constraints. As a result, the integration of these features into the new Apple Watches may be delayed until next year.
Apple is also exploring the use of 3D-printed casings for some models, aiming to streamline production processes and reduce material waste. Additionally, there is speculation regarding the branding of the new Apple Watches as special anniversary models, marking the device’s initial launch in 2015.
Overall, while the Apple Watch Series 10 promises exciting updates in terms of display and performance, the future of its health monitoring features remains uncertain. As Apple continues to navigate technical challenges and regulatory issues, consumers can expect a blend of innovation and practicality in the upcoming wearable devices.
