Apple closely monitoring ChatGPT, says Tim Cook

Date:

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that he is closely following ChatGPT, an advanced open-sourced artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by OpenAI that can perform various tasks like writing essays, articles, music, codes, and more. Cook, who revealed that he is a fan of ChatGPT, expressed excitement about the tool’s unique capabilities while also admitting that the AI tool raised concerns about safety and misinformation. Despite the concerns, ChatGPT has seen strong adoption, with Microsoft investing billions of dollars in the technology and incorporating it into some of its businesses like Bing and Microsoft Teams. Meanwhile, several other companies are also expected to onboard the ChatGPT soon. Cook emphasized the need to regulate AI since powerful AI’s progress could outpace regulation. He stated that companies must take responsibility to self-regulate while also calling for regulation to keep up with rapid advancements in AI technology.
