Amazon Joins Microsoft and Google in the AI Competition Fueled by ChatGPT

Amazon.com Inc.’s cloud computing division recently announced new offerings for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a move to become the go-to provider of generative AI, the same technology behind the ChatGPT. This news comes as Google and Microsoft have both released AI products for public use, whereas Amazon is aiming for corporate usage.

To provide for better and more efficient AI handling, Amazon expanded their services with custom-made chips that are said to provide cheaper options for running AI software in comparison to their competition. This unique offering in addition to the wide range of AI tools currently available from Amazon opens opportunities for businesses to pick from their own software and models. With this, Amazon seeks to become the Switzerland of generative AI and challenge the current supremacy of Google and Microsoft.

Amazon remains one of the largest cloud providers in the world, and is known for providing easy access to data and product related content. It was founded by Jeff Bezos and according to reports, Amazon is responsible for nearly a quarter of U.S. e-commerce sales. Its services have evolved over time and the the latest development could potentially pave the way for the company to expand its domination in the AI race against its competitors.
