Amazon India has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its highly anticipated Machine Learning (ML) Summer School program, catering to engineering students across the country. The goal of this immersive initiative is to equip students with essential Machine Learning skills and knowledge, preparing them for successful careers in the field.
Registration for the program will be open from May 31 to June 21, 2024, with the actual educational course set to take place over four weekends in July. Participants will dive deep into eight fundamental ML modules, covering a wide range of topics including Supervised Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Reinforcement Learning, and more.
This unique ML Summer School opportunity is available to engineering students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees from any recognized institution in India, expected to graduate in 2025 or 2026. After undergoing an assessment process, the top 3000 students will be selected to participate in the program.
Rajeev Rastogi, Vice President of International Machine Learning at Amazon, expressed the importance of bridging the gap between the rising demand for ML experts and the available talent pool. The focus of the program is to nurture students with practical skills and hands-on experience to tackle real-world challenges effectively.
Unlike traditional programs, Amazon’s ML Summer School emphasizes a holistic approach by combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, aligning with current industry trends. By the end of the course, participants will have honed their proficiency in key ML technologies, paving the way for a bright future in the field.
Past participants of the ML Summer School, like Prabash Male, have lauded the program for its impact on their career trajectories, with many securing internships and positions within Amazon itself. The program’s success is evident through its rapid growth, with an increasing number of engineering students showing interest and participation over the years.
As Amazon’s ML Summer School kicks off its fourth edition, the company remains committed to fostering excellence in machine learning education and grooming the next generation of tech leaders. For more information on the program, interested individuals can visit the Amazon India website.
