Alibaba’s Tongyi Tingwu Chat Tool Now Integrated with Messaging and Meeting Apps

Alibaba, the e-commerce giant, has integrated its chatGPT-style AI technology Tongyi Tingwu into meeting and messaging apps to improve personal and workplace productivity. The technology, which analyzes audio and video files to generate text summaries, will be fused with the messaging app DingTalk, to support users’ AI demands at work. The large language model called Tongyi Qianwen, developed by Alibaba Cloud, is now behind the interactions with the new version of the assistant called Tongyi Tingwu. The AI assistant works as a note-taking companion, assisting users in generating accurate transcriptions, organizing interviews, extracting PPTs, and more. The aim of the integration is to facilitate the comprehension and easy sharing of multimedia content. Alibaba’s latest AI-generated tool comes at a time when Chinese technology giants are integrating AI features into their products to grow their businesses which have been impacted by a slowing domestic economy and stricter regulations from Beijing.
