Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd declared on Wednesday that over 200,000 companies have applied to take part in trials for Tongyi Qianwen, the company’s latest AI powered big language model, which may rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Zhang Yong, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alibaba Group, and Chief Executive Officer of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, announced the start of Tongyi Qianwen partnership program, assigned to build large language models tailored for different industries with partners.
Seven providers of intelligent technology and services, such as Kunlun Digital Technology Co Ltd, LongShine Technology Group Co Ltd, China TransInfo Technology Co Ltd and Yonyou Network Technology Co Ltd, were the first to join the Alibaba Cloud collaboration. Jointly, they seek to create AI models dedicated to sectors such as petrochemicals, electricity, transportation, hospitality, corporate services, banking and telecommunications. Moreover, Alibaba has lately revealed their AI large language model Chen Tongyi Qianwen, which they plan to integrate into all applicable businesses and join the bot race. The organization stated they would offer to more businesses access to Tongyi Qianwen over the cloud and assist them in constructing custom large language models.
