We Are Now at the Dawn of a New Age for Intelligence, Says Global AI Expert at Qatar Foundation’s 2023 WISE Summit

Referring to the exponential rate at which the capabilities of AI systems are advancing, Global AI Expert Shick emphasized that we are now entering a new age for intelligence. In this revolution, the default is going to be a symbiotic relationship between machines and humans working together.

During the masterclass titled ‘Critical Thinking in the Digital Age: AI, Information Literacy, and the Battle Against Disinformation,’ Dr. Marc Owen Jones, Associate Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, discussed the challenges faced by education systems in identifying and combating misinformation. He also provided valuable advice on ways to tackle AI-generated propaganda.

The panel discussion on ‘AI for Common Good’ explored the collective impact of AI applications in various fields such as research, education, policy, philanthropy, and media. The aim was to understand how these applications can contribute to cultivating the next generation of leaders and problem-solvers.
