The company’s CEO Sam Altman believes that there are many potential concerns with the plan. He warned that OpenAI’s GTP-4 general-purpose AI technology could be too heavily restricted if the regulations are too restrictive.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai echoed Altman’s sentiments in his own visit to European capitals this week. He urged for regulations that don’t hinder innovation and create “guardrails” for AI regulation.
The EU AI Act, which is expected to be finalized in the next year, will be one of the world’s most comprehensive regulation packages for AI technologies.
