AI-Powered Solutions to Fix Your Biggest Photoshop Mistakes

Date:

Adobe Photoshop has been the go-to for photo editing for more than three decades, and its newest feature, Generative Fill, offers users the best of AI art generation. Generative Fill uses text prompts to help you extend an image, add objects or fix major mistakes. It is the latest AI-powered tool in Photoshop and it puts the power of Adobe Firefly, Adobes’s new generative AI engine, at users’ fingertips.

Generative Fill is user-friendly and an upgrade from Adobe’s Content Aware Fill feature. In some of Adobe’s demos, an image that originally is in portrait orientation will suddenly turn to one in landscape. Photoshop will fill in the missing parts based on the original image. While some of the results are subtle, others have a distinct aesthetic, such as a corgi’s image with fake bubbles and a van in the background.

Generative Fill is ideal for beginner and experienced users alike. The text prompt box is particularly useful for those who are not familiar with Photoshop’s tools. Users can add small details to an image or completely change the background. For example, a deer could be moved from a forest to a city with the prompt ‘wet alley at night’.

Some of Generative Fill’s capabilities are derived from OpenAI and Midjourney, both of which revealed AI tools this year. However, all of Generative Fill’s models have been trained on Adobe Stock images, openly-licensed content, and public domain content. This ensures that no copyright issues arise when using Generative Fill for commercial use.

Generative Fill will only be available to the full Photoshop app in the “second half of 2023”, but eager users can try it out now as it is available in the desktop beta app and in Adobe Firefly. With Firefly, you can simply type in your desired image request and watch it come to life.

Adobe’s Generative Fill feature is game changer for Photoshop and adds much-needed user-friendly features to the app. Not only does it make the editing process easier, but it also demonstrates Adobe’s commitment to staying current by embracing the latest trends in AI. With more developments to come in the second half of 2023, users will be able to create amazing images with a few clicks and is an exciting development for all fans of the art.
