AI-Powered Glasses Launch: ChatGPT Invades CG Product Development with Innovative Eyewear

Date:

ChatGPT is seemingly everywhere and the CPG space or consumer packaged goods (CPG) is no exception. Recently, Innovative Eyewear, Inc has launched their own AI-powered glasses line featuring a voice-activated ChatGPT. Advanced by the company’s new, patented Lucyd app, this fresh technology comes with an embedded microphone system and integrated stereo speakers. Functions include voice assistant capabilities, music, calls and more. Powered by the Lucyd app, users are able to ask questions to ChatGPT (using Siri or Google Voice).

Innovative Eyewear’s CEO, Harrison Gross, believes this technology will help provide customers with vast resources as they are able to access a variety of data and information. He stated “From translating languages to looking up recipes and understanding pop culture, customers can vocalize their needs to ChatGPT with the help of microphones built into the smart glasses.”

Google entered the sector of wearable technology back in 2013 with the launch of Google Glass. The facility featured a hands-free service similar to Innovative Eyewear’s line. Since then, Google has withdrawn from the product and its various upgraded versions. As of March 15, 2023, the website will no longer be selling Google Glass Enterprise Edition, although support will continue till September 15, 2023.

At the same time, AI’s growth reveals the potential success of this technology. For instance, watchGPT was launched in March, enabling users to access ChatGPT features via their Apple Watch. Amazfit has also announced ChatGPT compatibility with their GTR/GTS 3/4, GTS Mini, and GTR Mini. CGT further conducted research looking into the potential of ChatGPT and its influence on consumer engagement, content creation and merchandising.
