AI Optimization Guides Latin American Companies to Reach Their Target Customers

Date:

Businesses spend a lot of money to deploy the latest and most advanced applications of artificial intelligence (AI). However, not many have harnessed the full AI effect just yet. Senzai, a venture founded by Julian Lopez-Portillo and Darren Timmins, is trying to bridge the gap for the companies in Latin America looking to get the best out of AI.

About a year ago Lopez-Portillo, a former software manager at Afiniti, and Timmons, a data and enterprise architect from the UK, left their respective jobs to make a change. Lopez-Portillo saw that companies of all sizes were struggling to utilize predictive modeling effectively. Instead, they were utilizing offers and discounts to influence the outcome from a limited number of customers.

The team founded Senzai in Mexico City to provide companies with the necessary tools to measure the impact of their campaigns, test their hypotheses and optimize the customer experience on a grander scale. The pre-seed round they’ve just closed brought $2 million in cash to launch the first brand new iteration of their product, already deployed together with big telcos and banks.

AllVP Venture Partner Jimena Pardo complimented the idea, pointing out that “AI is really in the spotlight right now with the advent of ChatGPT. While the new breed of LLMs (large language models) is powerful and constantly innovating, real value comes from focusing on the outcomes and not just on the tools. Senzai is perfectly placed to leverage that innovation and really bring value to its clients”.

Senzai plans on launching the product at the end of the year, based on a performance-based fee charging a percentage of the value generated for customers.

The company is currently founded by Julian Lopez-Portillo, CEO, and Darren Timmons. Lopez-Portillo previously worked as head of product building performance measurement and predictive modeling products with AI. At Afiniti, Timmons was an expert in data and enterprise architecture, having previously worked for telecommunications companies in the UK.

By providing an easy-to-use platform that applies AI to the retail sector, Senzai optimizes the customer experience, helping companies get the most out of the technology while leveraging their AI-driven products. Their goal is to eliminate the drawbacks of relying on limited offers and discounts, allowing businesses to find their right customers and improve the outcome of their campaigns.
