AI Impact: Kilkenny Workers Fear Job Replacements, Survey Finds

Date:

According to a recent survey conducted by FRS Recruitment, a notable number of workers in Kilkenny are concerned about the potential impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on their jobs. The study revealed that a significant 93% of individuals in Kilkenny have already utilized AI in their workplaces, highlighting the increasing integration of this technology in various sectors.

Interestingly, nearly half (48%) of the respondents expressed beliefs that AI could potentially affect or replace their current roles in the future. This percentage has notably risen from 32% last year, indicating a growing apprehension among workers regarding the influence of AI on their professional lives. Nationally, 47% of participants shared similar concerns about the future implications of AI on their employment status.

The research also shed light on the sectors where AI implementation is most prevalent. Industries such as Education and Training, Hospitality and Tourism, as well as Agriculture, Farming, and Agri-Food showed higher rates of AI usage. Conversely, sectors like IT, Professional Services, and Pharma and Medical Devices reported lower rates of AI integration.

When it comes to anxieties surrounding the impact of AI on future job prospects, individuals working in IT, Pharma and Medical Devices, and Education and Training showed the greatest levels of concern. On the other hand, professionals in fields like Professional Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Retail, as well as Manufacturing and Supply Chain exhibited less apprehension regarding potential job displacement due to AI.

Lynne McCormack, the General Manager of FRS Recruitment, commented on the findings, emphasizing the growing presence of AI in workplaces and the evolving attitudes towards its implications. With the rapid advancement of AI technology, it remains essential for employees to adapt and embrace these changes to navigate the shifting employment landscape effectively.
