He believes that people may not be able to differentiate between real and AI-generated photos, videos, or text, and fears that this could lead to job losses or the weaponization of AI. He, along with two of his students, made breakthroughs in AI while at Google and were awarded the Turing award in 2019 for their work on neural networks.
